This special Westbound cruise offers a unique opportunity to watch the sun set over the eastern Straits of Mackinac. Then, after sun falls below the horizon, to use the lighthouses in the way they were designed - to guide mariners safely on their way at night.

Along your journey, you will discover first hand the critical role played by the Cheboygan River Range lights in guiding mariners up the narrow river channel and how each lighthouses unique light characteristic serves to inform mariners of their exact position, and the history of the various different illuminating methods used in lighthouses over the years. A GLLKA volunteer expert will be on board throughout the cruise to narrate and provide answers to questions throughout the cruise.

The cruise is $49.50 per person, children 5 - 12 years $27.50, and children under 5 ride free. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling Shepler's at (800) 828-6157 or (231) 436-5023.
